Abstract
This study is designed as a basic research on the characteristics of anger, feelings of shame em ,barrassment, guilt feeling and depression, and their relations to the feeling of anger. The findings of this research is expected to help design nursing approach to deal with the aforesaid problems.
A questionaire developed by modifying Maynard¢¥s was used to interview 37 junior and high school students. Their answers were recorded for further in-depth analysis. The analysis is based on k¢¥ Strauss and Corbin¢¥s 3 stage method.
The major findings are as follows:
Teenagers experience anger as result of their own problems as well as of the problems of others. heir response to the feeling of anger take various forms, emotional, social and physical, including impulsive drive.
b In most cases appropriate defence mechanism is uses. They showed both positive and negative responses to the feeling of anger.
In conclusion teenagers were found to experience anger triggered by both internal and external factors. It was also found that anger influences emotional, social, and physical aspects. Teenagers turn to various defences for maintaining mental, physical and social equilibrium. Such equilibrium is ;believed to help teenagers develop positive response toward life.
These findings lead to the conclusion that the concept of anger worked out in this study is basically similar to `the concept of stress developed by Chrisman and Riehl.
